Melissa ISD shared an update on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, with families who had expressed interest in continuing virtual school for grades 6-12. The Texas state legislature did not complete the passage of an online learning bill during the 87th legislative session, which means that Melissa ISD does not have a path forward to establish a virtual campus for the 2021-2022 school year, as was the initial plan.
The district is committed to assisting all families in finding a school solution that works best for them, whether it be through an outside online learning program or returning to campus in-person this fall at Melissa Schools.
