Melissa ISD TSPRA Star Award certificate, medal, and Difference Maker portfolio book

Melissa ISD has received two Gold Star communication awards and one Best of Category honor from the Texas School Public Relations Association (TSPRA). This is the first year that Melissa ISD entered the TSPRA Star Awards contest and both communication pieces that were submitted received top honors in their respective categories.


The Melissa ISD community update from June 20, 2020, titled “We Have Hope for Continued Growth, Understanding, and Unity”, won a Gold Star award and was named Best of Category in writing. The Facebook post featuring the written message can be read at this link.

The 2019 Melissa Schools Executive Portfolio book featuring the district’s “Difference Maker” vision won a Gold Star award in the booklet category. The 28-page book is archived on the district website at www.melissaisd.org/portfolio.

Melissa ISD’s entries were independently judged among those from other Texas school districts with a student enrollment total of 10,000 or less.

The Melissa ISD Communications department is led by Maddie Coe, Director of Communications, who has served Melissa Schools since 2015.
