Face Coverings Optional at Melissa ISD Beginning March 10

Following the Executive Order GA-34 issued by Governor Greg Abbott, beginning March 10, 2021, face masks will be optional for all Melissa ISD students, staff, and visitors in district facilities, on school buses, and at school-sanctioned events. All UIL activities will adhere to the updated UIL COVID-19 Risk Mitigation Guidelines.

All other COVID-19 safety protocols will remain in place at Melissa Schools in order to help mitigate the potential spread of the virus. This includes: 1) encouraged social distancing when possible, 2) cleaning and sanitization practices, 3) required self-screening for symptoms prior to entry, and 4) the availability of onsite COVID-19 testing. Melissa ISD Offers Free COVID-19 Vaccine to Employees

Melissa ISD is partnering with the McKinney Fire Department to offer the two-dose Moderna COVID-19 vaccine to all district employees who wish to be vaccinated. The first vaccination clinic will take place at McKinney ISD Stadium the morning of Monday, March 15. Additional details have been shared with all district employees.


Spring Break & Two-Hour Delay on March 15

Melissa Schools will be closed for Spring Break from March 8-12. Students will have a two-hour delayed arrival the morning of March 15 when school resumes, allowing for the Melissa ISD employee COVID-19 vaccination clinic to take place, as mentioned above.
