Nominations for the 2019-2020 Melissa Schools Wall of Honor open Monday, July 22 with a deadline of Sept. 1.
The Wall of Honor recognizes former students, former staff, and community members who have positively and significantly impacted the district and society. This ongoing initiative distinguishes altruistic, high achieving individuals with a significant history.
Eight honorees have been inducted into the Wall of Honor since the program’s inception in 2016: Amy Burchett, Helen Garvin Browning, Corinne Gibson, Lee Hill, Dave Phillips, Tony Williams, Doug Zadow, and Lisa Zadow.
Written nominations for the 2019-2020 Wall of Honor will be accepted through Sept. 1. The selection committee will then review the nominees, and the inductee(s) will be selected and notified. Melissa Schools will recognize the inductee(s) at the Oct. 18 varsity football game at Cardinal Stadium. Honorees will also have the opportunity to go on a campus tour at Melissa Schools.
Each inductee is featured on the Wall of Honor at the Melissa Schools Home Office and on the district website at www.melissaisd.org/wallofhonor.
The nominee qualifications and nomination form can be found at www.melissaisd.org/wallofhonor, which also includes information about the selection process, recognition festivities, and a timeline of events.
