The MMS Performing Arts will present their 2018 One Act Play, “The Diary of Anne Frank”, at the third annual Melissa Middle School dinner theatre the evening of Monday, Dec. 3.
The middle school theatre program is under the direction of Louise Hickey. The story of this year’s production, Hickey says, “serves as a gripping reminder of the evils of the Holocaust, juxtaposed with the loving optimism of a young girl”.
Stella Rose plays the title role of Anne. Dax Laber plays Anne’s father and Kyah Wells plays her mother. The production also stars Andrew Baxley, Tyler Mathieson, Ella Nye, Tucker Phillips, Maddie Pickett, Kathryn Rose, and Hudson Ross in prominent roles.
Stage managers include Riley Thornburg and Makenna Worsham-Bowen. Hayden Mauer serves as the light technician and Bailey Thornburg is the sound technician. Alley Bartlett is part of the costume team responsible for sewing yellow stars onto coats.
The dinner theatre begins at 7:00 p.m. in the middle school cafeteria. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. To reserve tickets, email Ms. Hickey at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Prior to the dinner theatre, on Saturday, Dec. 1, the MMS Performing Arts will perform “The Diary of Anne Frank” in the 2018 UIL One Act Play Competition in Celina.
