The Mighty Cardinal Band had a successful weekend while competing in Denton and Mineola.
At Saturday’s Denton Marching Contest, the band placed 6th Overall against 20 schools in the 3A, 4A, and 5A classifications. The band then swept the 4A classification at Sunday’s Mineola Marching Contest in both preliminary and finals competition.
The Mighty Cardinal Band received all 1st Division ratings from three band judges and in the captions of Drum Major, Percussion, and Colorguard. In the 4A classification, Percussion won Most Outstanding Percussion, Colorguard won Most Outstanding Colorguard, and the band won Most Outstanding Band.
In addition, Colorguard won Grand Champion for the entire competition and the band placed 2nd Overall, edging out all other bands in our region and area, including Community, Kaufman, and Wills Point.
