Melissa Middle School principal Jim Miller has accepted the position of athletic director at Roosevelt ISD in Lubbock.

Jim Miller and his wife, Stacy both graduated from Roosevelt High School and began their teaching careers at Roosevelt ISD.

Mr. Miller joined Melissa ISD in 2013, where he has served as an athletic coordinator, middle school assistant principal, and middle school principal. He spoke Wednesday of his time in Melissa.

“Stacy and I are indebted to so many people that are part of the school district and community. Melissa has been a very special place for our family and careers. Our decision was tough and bittersweet. While we are excited to return home to West Texas, we will also miss our Cardinal friends and being part of Team Melissa.”

“Jim Miller has been a tremendous employee and we have been blessed to have him as part of the administrative team at Melissa Schools,” said Superintendent Keith Murphy. “We have had a great chapter together. We wish Mr. Miller and his family the very best as they return to their home in Lubbock.”

The end of Mr. Miller’s tenure with Melissa Schools is effective May 1. The district is currently in the process of evaluating options for the new principal at Melissa Middle School.
