Nominations for the 2017-18 Melissa Schools Wall of Honor open Monday, May 1.
The Melissa Schools Wall of Honor recognizes former students, staff, and community members who have positively and significantly impacted the district and society. This ongoing initiative distinguishes altruistic, high achieving individuals with a significant history.
Melissa Schools inducted five inaugural honorees last September, including Amy Burchett, Lee Hill, Dave Phillips, and Doug and Lisa Zadow.
Written nominations for the 2017-18 Wall of Honor will be accepted through Friday, June 30. All nominees will be reviewed by a selection committee with inductees selected and notified by July 26.
Melissa Schools will recognize the selected Wall of Honor inductee(s) throughout the day on Friday, Sept. 8 to coincide with Homecoming. Festivities include a ceremony and luncheon for all honorees, past and present, in addition to inductee recognition at the Homecoming pep rally and football game.
Inductees will be added to the Wall of Honor at the Melissa Schools Home Office and featured on the district website.
Nominee qualifications and a nomination form can be found on the Wall of Honor page, which also includes information about the Wall of Honor selection process, recognition festivities, and a timeline of events.
