Dr. Debi Crawford will join the administrative team at Melissa Schools in July as the Executive Director of Technology and H.I.R.E. Education for the district.
“Dr. Crawford brings a unique variety of experiences to our fast-growing community that can’t be found in any other applicant,” said Dr. Robert Rich, Deputy Superintendent at Melissa Schools. “We’re so very excited she’s chosen to become a part of our team.”
At Melissa Schools, Dr. Crawford will be working on postsecondary readiness, including college readiness and certified hireability for the work force.
Dr. Crawford brings with her 40 years of experience in public education, having served as a classroom teacher, interim principal, interim superintendent, and for the last 12 years, an assistant superintendent at Hawkins ISD. At the postsecondary level, she has served as an education specialist, executive coordinator, director of student teaching, and assistant professor of education.
Throughout her career, Dr. Crawford has received numerous educational and leadership awards, including being named Middle School Teacher of the Year at Moore Middle School in Tyler, District Teacher of the Month at Tyler ISD, and Distinguished CTE Administrator by Texas Technology and Engineering Educators.
Dr. Crawford earned her doctoral degree from Texas A&M Commerce, her master’s degree from the University of Texas at Tyler, and her bachelor’s degree from the University of California San Diego.
“I’m very excited to be joining the team at Melissa,” Dr. Crawford said. “There’s such a great spirit of cooperation and hope here that I can’t wait to be a part of.”
