The May 7 ballot will include an additional item for voters in Melissa. The Melissa Schools Board of Trustees approved calling a bond election at a regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, February 15.
Voters will decide whether to approve a $150 million bond proposal. The district intends to use the bond funds, if approved, to address new construction for student growth, including renovations of aging facilities and land acquisition for new campuses, and for new school buses.
The last day of voter registration is April 7, and early voting begins April 25. Early polling locations include the Collin County Election Office and Melissa City Hall.
If voters approve the bond package, the district tax rate of $1.67 would not change.
