Melissa Schools recognized Melissa Middle School for its recent designation as a 2016 Texas “School to Watch” at Monday night’s Board of Trustees meeting.
Board President George James presented principal Jim Miller and former principal Kim Boedeker, now Executive Director of Academic Leadership, with a plaque to be displayed on campus. Melissa Middle School was one of seven exemplary middle-grade schools in the state of Texas to receive this acclaimed recognition this year.
Additionally, standout students, athletes, and faculty from throughout the district were celebrated during Cardinal Commendations. Two kindergarten students from Harry McKillop Elementary led the Pledge of Allegiance and the Texas Pledge, and campuses received attendance awards.
Join us in sharing our congratulations and appreciation for last night’s honorees!
