Our community will continue to face difficult situations. When a crisis situation arises, it is how we respond that shows our heart and shows who we really are.
Melissa ISD has a responsibility to be transparent while leading with love and compassion. We also strive to be solution finders. Above all, it is our desire to promote the safety, well-being, and healing of every child attending Melissa Schools.
Melissa ISD is aware of allegations regarding an encounter that occurred between a high school employee and a student at the football game last Friday, Sept. 4, 2020. While the district does not respond to public allegations that are published on social media, we do take seriously every allegation that is brought to the attention of the district.
As is standard protocol, any and all allegations of this nature will be fully investigated to gather the facts, and appropriate action will be taken.
Melissa ISD shares the community’s immense concern for the safety and well-being of all students; our priority is always to provide a safe and welcoming environment. Students attending Melissa Schools are strongly encouraged to reach out to their school counselor or a trusted adult if they ever feel unsafe or mistreated at school or at a school function. Parents and guardians are asked to immediately contact their student’s school directly regarding any personnel or student safety concerns.
