The Child Nutrition program at Melissa Schools offers free and reduced-price meals for students who meet the program qualifications.
For qualifying students, a reduced-price breakfast meal costs 30 cents and a reduced-price lunch meal costs 40 cents. Students who qualify for free meals will receive breakfast and lunch at no cost each school day.
Who qualifies for free or reduced-price meals at school?
Free or Reduced-Price Meals:
How can I apply for my child to receive free or reduced-price meals?
A copy of the free or reduced-price meal application will be available at your child’s Meet the Teacher or Open House night. The application can also be accessed online on the Child Nutrition page, linked below, and printed copies are available at each school in Melissa ISD.
Qualifying families are required to complete a new application each school year in order for their child to receive free or reduced-price meals at school. Families with multiple school-aged children are only required to complete one family application each school year.
I have more questions and/or need help with the application. What should I do?
If you need assistance in determining if your child qualifies for the free and reduced-price meal program at Melissa Schools, please do not hesitate to reach out to the counselor or the front office staff at your child’s school.
