Melissa ISD received an “A” rating for overall district performance from the Texas Education Agency (TEA) for the 2017-18 academic year.

The rating focuses on three key areas – student achievement, school progress, and closing the gaps – and is based on student performance data from Harry McKillop Elementary, Melissa Ridge Intermediate, Melissa Middle School, and Melissa High School.

The 2017-18 performance rating for Melissa Schools, and further explanation from the TEA, can be found online at

Sharon Carroll, Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction, presented an overview of the performance rating at the Jan. 14 school board meeting. The meeting also included a public hearing for the 2017-18 Texas Academic Performance Report (TAPR) for Melissa ISD, as provided by the Texas Education Agency (TEA).

Links to the 2017-18 Melissa ISD TAPR and performance rating are now available on the Testing & Accountability page.
