Due to new UIL guidelines and the 50% capacity rule, several changes will go into effect for the 2020-2021 school year regarding Melissa ISD athletic contests and ticket sales. The new procedures are outlined below.
All information is subject to change in accordance with UIL guidelines.
Melissa ISD will no longer use paper tickets for athletic contests. Instead, digital tickets will be pre-purchased online through the Tickets web page on the Melissa Athletics website, located at melissaisd.org/athletics/tickets. Tickets will be managed by Hometown Ticketing.
A digital ticket will be required in order for spectators to enter each home contest (varsity, JV, and middle school) for the following sports: football, volleyball, basketball, baseball, and softball.
There will be a limited number of seats and tickets available for each home contest.
No passes will be honored for any home event during the 2020-2021 school year. Those who typically attend football games using a pass are encouraged to access home games via the Melissa ISD live video stream and/or the Melissa Cardinals Network radio show – see details below.
General admission tickets will go on sale to the public one week prior to the home contest and will be available for purchase online on the Tickets web page until building capacity is met.
Prior to each varsity football home game, the family of each participating student (i.e. football, band, and/or cheerleading) will have priority access to purchase a certain number of tickets online during the priority ticket sale window. Further purchasing instructions will be shared with participating students, parents, and guardians by each program sponsor.
In the event that priority family tickets will be offered for basketball, baseball, and/or softball home games, purchasing instructions will be shared with those families closer to the start of the season.
Varsity football home games will be live streamed with video and audio through the Melissa ISD YouTube account, and will be covered by the Melissa Cardinals Network radio stream. Varsity football away games will be streamed through the Melissa Cardinals Network radio show hosted by Trey Graham and Kenny Deel.
Live streaming links can be accessed from the Melissa Cardinals Network website.
In accordance with UIL guidelines, the following safety protocols apply to all athletic contests taking place at Cardinal Stadium (3100 Cardinal Drive, Melissa, TX 75454) or in a Melissa ISD gymnasium.
The Cardinal Stadium Map provides more information about parking as well as entry and exit points.
