The Melissa High School Lady Cardinal Track and Field team competed Friday and Saturday in the 90th Annual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin.
Senior Priscilla Adejokun competed in discus Friday and finished with a personal best time. On Saturday, Adejokun took a silver medal home with a shot put of 42’4.5″, and earned the opportunity to join the Spectrum podium for Top 3 finishers.
In the 100m dash prelims, senior Karrington Lewis shattered her school record and gained a new personal best time of 12.05, snatching a 10th place finish. Senior Bryanna Hernandez ran one her best times of the season at 12.42 and captured an 18th place finish.
The Lady Cardinal 4x200m relay team included junior Natalie Courtney, senior Gill Gray, senior Bryanna Hernandez, and senior Karrington Lewis. The Lady Cards set a new school record on Friday during prelims with a time of 1:44.38, and broke the school record during finals on Saturday with a time of 1:43.73 and a sixth place finish.
The Melissa High School Lady Cardinal Track and Field team competes this Thursday, April 6 in Farmersville, followed by the District 11-4A meet from April 12-13 in Princeton.
