The Melissa High School Lady Cardinal Track and Field team traveled to Farmersville last week for a pre-district meet.
Senior Priscilla Adejokun captured the silver medal in discus. Adejokun grabbed the gold medal in shot put and set a new school record, with put of 44’4.5″.
Senior Karrington Lewis matched her school record and personal best in the 100m dash, with a 12.05, and took home the gold medal. Lewis set a new school record in the 200m dash, running a 24.95, and capturing the silver medal.
Freshman Alison Kocsis captured the bronze medal in 3200m.
Freshman Brenna Sheriff took home the bronze medal in the 100m.
Junior Marisa Brunson captured the silver medal in the pole vault.
The 4x200m relay prelims team – comprised of junior Natalie Courtney, sophomore Sally Clemmons, junior Joy Sparks, and freshman Ashanti Johnson – finished third, capturing a bronze medal.
The Lady Cardinals compete next at the UIL District 11-4A Track & Field Championships in Princeton on Wednesday and Thursday.
