Friday morning, Jan. 15, students at Harry McKillop Elementary School gathered in the gym for their first assembly of 2016, appropriately titled the Hero Huddle. As principal Leanne Bush led the assembly, she spoke of generosity and kindness, and recognized Martin Luther King Jr. and other heroes in the community, such as firefighters, police officers, nurses, and service members.
Cardinals listened intently as third grader Nathan Rose read aloud an excerpt from Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have A Dream” speech. Watch a video and see photos from the Hero Huddle below.
