This Friday, the Melissa Lady Cardinal volleyball team will compete in the UIL 4A State Volleyball Tournament for the first time in school history. The district is incredibly proud of this achievement by the student-athletes and the coaching staff.

The Lady Cardinals play Decatur in the semifinal round of the state volleyball tournament on Friday, Nov. 16 at 11:00 a.m. at the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland. For tournament information, including pricing for tickets and parking, please click here.

Melissa Schools will make an effort to stream live video of the volleyball game for students to watch, where available.

Additionally, in an effort to support the Lady Cardinals in their first-ever state volleyball appearance, and allow for maximum Team Melissa attendance, Melissa Schools will excuse a student’s absence on Friday, Nov. 16 if they attend the state tournament.

Please note: In order for a student absence to be excused on Friday, Nov. 16, the student must turn in their ticket stub from Friday’s game to confirm that they attended the state volleyball tournament.

State Sendoff

At 8:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 16 there will be a State Volleyball Sendoff at Melissa High School, outside in the horseshoe driveway. We invite the community to attend.

Good luck, Lady Cardinals! #REDRED
