Our senior website outlines all that we have planned for the Melissa High School Senior Class of 2020, including any adjustments that have been made as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. We are excited to celebrate our seniors, as we honor their time in Melissa and wish them well in their future endeavors.
Located at Cardinal Stadium | Live Streamed
New state guidelines released on May 5 made it possible for Melissa ISD to have a modified in-person graduation ceremony for the Melissa High School Senior Class of 2020, located outdoors at Cardinal Stadium, on Friday, June 5, 2020 beginning at 8:00 p.m.
Graduation caps, gowns, and cords will be delivered to seniors’ homes and left on the front doorstep. Senior families, please try to have someone home during this time.
If you are out of town, at a different address, or otherwise will not have someone home to receive your delivery, please fill out this form to let us know before Sunday, May 3 at 5:00 p.m.
Banquet dates are listed on the Calendar of Events. Digital invitations and additional details will be shared by the program director or head coach.
The Melissa Education Foundation will email all students in the Class of 2020 who are receiving a scholarship. A member of the MEF board will deliver an envelope to each recipient that contains the scholarship award certificate, amount, and donor information.
In addition, MEF hopes to host an event this summer to present checks and allow for students to meet their scholarship donors. Please visit the MEF website for the latest updates, or contact director Kellie Maynard at email@example.com.
Located at Home Office | 1904 Cooper Street
We’ve put together a photo booth with a Class of 2020 backdrop for senior family photo ops, located at the Melissa Schools Home Office (1904 Cooper Street). Seniors, along with members of their household, can visit the photo booth and take pictures while maintaining proper social distance from others.
The photo booth will be open on Friday, May 15 and from May 18-22 from Noon to 6:00 p.m. If none of these time frames work for you, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule a time to visit.
Please bring your own camera, as there will not be a photographer on site.
Only photos with seniors and members of their household are permitted. Families will be required to enter the photo booth one at a time.
Save the Date – More Information to Come
Typically our senior class participates in the Senior Walk, where they walk the halls of each elementary school dressed in their caps and gowns, while the young Cardinals cheer them on and exchange high fives. Since we are unable to host our traditional Senior Walk this year, we have organized a Senior Caravan Celebration.
The community is invited to celebrate the Melissa High School Class of 2020 by watching the Senior Caravan Celebration on Saturday, May 23, 2020, beginning at 10:00 a.m., as the graduates travel by car through Melissa ISD neighborhoods. Follow the link below for more information, including the caravan route and instructions for senior participants.
Video Stream – Invitation Only
The Melissa High School Prom, rescheduled to Friday, June 12, 2020 is officially cancelled. Unfortunately, school officials were unable to find a way to conduct prom while following social distancing guidelines and restrictions on group gatherings. Click here for details regarding ticket refunds.
Due to safety guidelines regarding COVID-19, school officials were unable to find a way to conduct an in-person yearbook signing and celebration for the Class of 2020, as originally scheduled for July 25, 2020. If you have not yet retrieved the yearbook you purchased, please contact the school to arrange pickup.
Melissa ISD’s return-to-school plans for 2020-2021 were updated on July 30, 2020 with more extensive information and protocols. Please be advised that conditions surrounding the coronavirus pandemic are ever-changing. Plans for the upcoming year could change at any time in accordance with local, state, and federal guidelines. The district will continue to notify families of any and all major updates that are published.
