Melissa High School seniors Junior Castleberry and Brandon Murphy participated in National Signing Day on Wednesday, May 22 as they each signed their college letter of intent.
The student-athletes signed their letters in the Melissa High School gym during mega lunch, following an introduction from their respective coaches. Photo ops followed with family members, coaches, teammates, and friends.
Junior Castleberry signed a letter of intent to play basketball at McPherson College in McPherson, Kan. Castleberry is a three-year varsity letterman, three-time All-District selection, and was named 2nd Team All-Texomaland.
“Junior has been such a huge part of our success the past 3 years,” said coach Eric Benton. “He stepped up for us in so many big moments and made big shots for us when we needed them the most. I’m excited to see him do that at McPherson.”
Brandon Murphy signed a letter of intent to play football at Howard Payne University in Brownwood. Murphy was a running back for the Melissa Cardinals and was named All-District Honorable Mention.
