Melissa ISD students are encouraged to help fight hunger this fall by collecting and donating food items to support local families in need.
The Fall 2022 Food Drive will run from Nov. 3-10, 2022 and will encourage students to “fill the red bag” in their classroom with non-perishable food items. Student leaders on each campus from the Student Council, Interact Club, and Student Ambassador Program will coordinate food collection and encourage participation among their peers.
Suggested non-perishable food items to donate include canned vegetables, fruit, soup, and tuna, along with dry cereal, rice, and boxed mac ‘n cheese. All food donations collected will go to families in the Melissa community through the First Melissa Christmas Angel Program and the Melissa Community Outreach Food Pantry.
