Melissa ISD students in grades 7-12 who will participate in UIL athletics, band, cheerleading, and colorguard for the 2023-2024 school year are required to have certain information on file with the school in order to be eligible for participation in their desired program(s).

All required documentation must be completed each year in Rank One according to the program deadline listed below. Visit www.melissaisd.org/uil for instructions on how to access Rank One and to complete the required information for a participating student.

High School Deadlines:

  • July 14, 2023 - Band, Cheerleading & Colorguard
  • July 28, 2023 - Cross Country, Football & Volleyball
  • Aug. 29, 2023 - All Other Programs

Middle School Deadlines:

UIL requirements include an annual student physical. The student’s parent or guardian must print the pre-participation physical examination (PPE) form to complete with a physician, pediatrician, physician’s assistant, chiropractor, or nurse practitioner. Student physicals should be dated no earlier than May 1, 2023 to be eligible for the 2023-2024 school year.

Clinics for student physicals are not offered at Melissa ISD; however, a number of Melissa-area clinics offer this service for families including QuestCare, CommunityMed, and Texas Health Resources.

Questions regarding required documentation for UIL participants can be directed to the Melissa ISD head athletic trainer, Allie Berman, at allieberman@melissaisd.org.
