Nominations for the 2020-2021 Melissa Schools Wall of Honor opened Friday, Sept. 18, 2020 with a deadline of Oct. 1, 2020.
The Wall of Honor recognizes former students, former staff, and community members who have positively and significantly impacted the district and society. This ongoing initiative distinguishes altruistic, high achieving individuals with a significant history.
Eight honorees have been inducted into the Wall of Honor since the program’s inception in 2016: Amy Burchett, Helen Garvin Browning, Corinne Gibson, Lee Hill, Dave Phillips, Tony Williams, Doug Zadow, and Lisa Zadow.
Nominations for the 2020-2021 Wall of Honor will be accepted through Oct. 1, 2020. The selection committee will then review the nominees, and the inductee(s) will be selected and notified. Melissa Schools will recognize the inductee(s) at the Teacher and Volunteer of the Year Ceremony on Oct. 28, 2020. Honorees will also have the opportunity to go on a campus tour at Melissa Schools.
Each inductee is featured on the Wall of Honor at the Melissa Schools Home Office and on the district website at www.melissaisd.org/wallofhonor.
The nominee qualifications and nomination form can be found at www.melissaisd.org/wallofhonor, which also includes information about the selection process, recognition festivities, and a timeline of events.
