I wanted to take a moment to say thank you to the staff of Melissa Schools for all the hard work you always put in.
On my way to work this morning, I was thinking about how blessed we are to be working and educating kids in Melissa. I have been in the public school business for the last 26 years and I could not be more excited about the direction of any district. We have momentum.
I am so very grateful for the effort that our team puts forth to ensure a pathway to success for every child. I realize that we are not perfect and we may not get everything right the first time, but I do believe that we will find a true path to success for every student if we continue to work together.
I am so encouraged by the many kind words that are shared daily from members of our community and staff. It is our job to maintain the trust we have established with the families we serve.
I would also like to give you an update on our facilities planning process. First, let me say that we have been working hard to meet the expectations of all our Needs Assessment Groups that met earlier this year.
Our team is moving forward and finalizing the design of the first phase of the new high school. I believe that the new structure will represent the best of our collective thinking. I’m also encouraged by the financial reports that will soon lend us an opportunity to build a new elementary school. It is our desire to open the new high school and new elementary school, both within a relatively short window.
Thank you for making every day at our schools “a special time in a special place.” I am proud to serve alongside you and be a part of our Team Melissa.
