2020 Census

What is the 2020 Census?

The 2020 Census counts every person living in the 50 states, District of Columbia, and five U.S. territories.

Beginning in March 2020, each home will receive an invitation to respond to a short questionnaire by April 1, 2020. Each household can respond online, by phone, or by mail. The census count is mandated by the Constitution and conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau every 10 years.

Census information is collected and kept confidential by the United States Census Bureau.
