Melissa Ridge Intermediate, Melissa Middle School, and Melissa High School students will participate in STAAR testing the week of March 28. Please read below for important testing dates and other information specific to your child’s school and grade level.
Students should get a good night’s sleep and have a healthy breakfast the morning of testing.
Students need to bring a water bottle, book to read after finishing the test, and any snacks/mints they may want throughout testing. Students can order a tray lunch from the cafeteria or bring their lunch (no microwaves are available). The most important thing is for students to take their time and try their best.
6th grade is not testing in March. Students should arrive at the normal time. Any snacks that students bring in for testing should be kept in ziplock bags. There will be no athletics for 7th and 8th grade athletes on either testing day.
Students are allowed 5 hours for testing.
On Tuesday, March 29, students in 3rd – 8th grades may walk into any McDonald’s of Greater North Texas restaurant and receive a free breakfast.
