Summer Reading Program
Each year, Melissa ISD partners with the Melissa Public Library to encourage and promote reading over the summer break.
The 2018 Libraries Rock! Summer Reading Program at the Melissa Public Library is open to children aged 0-14 and requires a minimum of 800 minutes of logged reading from June 4 through August 6.
Prizes are given out by the public library for each 100 minutes read and the top readers receive awards. Students in elementary and middle school who participate in the Summer Reading Program will be invited to an ice cream party at the beginning of the 2018-19 school year with the school librarian.
