“It was nice to see so many voters turn out for the election; it shows that there are a lot of people interested in what’s going on at our schools,” said Keith Murphy, Superintendent at Melissa Schools. “There were several candidates, and I commend them all for throwing their name in the hat. I think it was a good race, and the kids of Melissa Schools will benefit. Congratulations to the incumbents. I do believe that our board is doing a good job, and always keeps the filter that they try to do what’s best for kids, and will continue to do so.”

Saturday night’s vote totals are unofficial at this time. Provisional votes may need to be tallied, and the votes will need to be canvassed before they are official. Canvass of returns is scheduled for Monday, May 15 at the next Melissa Schools Board Meeting, which begins at 6:00 p.m. in the Home Office at 1904 Cooper Street.
