The Melissa Independent School District hosted a public meeting at 6:00 p.m., August 30, 2010, in the Professional Learning Center at 1904 Cooper Street, Melissa, Texas 75454. Melissa Middle School Recognized Nationally as a High Performing School

The National Center for Educational Achievement (NCEA) recently recognized Melissa Middle School as a 2009 Just for the Kids high performing school in Texas. The NCEA used two measures of analysis: growth and college and career readiness. Melissa Middle School was specifically recognized for student growth and performance in Social Studies.
