Chief Kelly Davidson of the Melissa Schools Police Department led a school safety forum Monday evening at the Home Office, where he spoke about safety measures the district has put in place in recent years.

Topics of discussion included officer communications, student privacy laws, the district’s staff carry policy, social media conduct, cell phone dangers, e-cigarette trends, and the safety and security of school facilities.

Chief Davidson welcomed guest speaker Bryan Kile, Police Detective for the City of Melissa. Kile discussed how teens are using cell phones, social media, and popular mobile apps.

Melissa Schools Police Officer, Jerome Edwards, and City of Melissa Mayor, Reed Greer, were also present.

Those in attendance were invited to ask questions, voice concerns, and share suggestions for improvements.
