Melissa Schools has hired Craig Dennis as an Assistant Principal at Melissa High School for the 2016-17 school year. Dennis currently serves as the Science Team Lead at the high school, as well as the Offensive Coordinator for Football and the Powerlifting Head Coach.
Dennis earned his Bachelor of Science degree, with a focus in High School Interdisciplinary Studies and Physical Science, from Abilene Christian University. He has worked in education for 10 years and has been with Melissa Schools since 2011.
Dennis spoke Tuesday about his anticipated transition to an administrative role.
“I am very excited to have the opportunity to join the administrative team at Melissa High School,” Dennis said. “We have great students and a wonderful staff that I look forward to serving in this new role. I am glad I have the chance to further my career in a place that I love.”
Melissa High School Principal Mike Carter added, “I’m excited to have Craig be a part of the administrative team. I think he will transition nicely into the position. He has the confidence of our staff, he has been here for several years, and he will be able to step right in and do a fantastic job.”
Melissa Schools administration will seek applicants to fill Dennis’ current position later this year.
