Parents who wish to enroll their children in Kindergarten at Melissa Schools for the 2016-17 school year are encouraged to complete registration during one of the two announced Kindergarten Round-Up days.
Kindergarten Round-Up will take place at Harry McKillop Elementary on Thursday, June 2 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. and Friday, June 3 from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Registration is come and go with no appointment necessary. Online enrollment and registration packets must be completed in advance.
Eligibility for Kindergarten is for students who turn 5 on or before September 1, 2016 and reside in the Melissa ISD boundaries.
Melissa Schools uses an online enrollment system for students that are new to the district. Online enrollment for 2016-17 Kindergarten students opens Monday, May 16.
To begin online enrollment, visit the New Student Enrollment page, follow the step-by-step instructions, and print out the confirmation page.
At the end of online enrollment, you will be prompted to print and complete a registration packet. These packets will be available beginning Monday, May 16 on the New Student Enrollment page or at the Harry McKillop Elementary front office, located at 3509 Liberty Way, Melissa, TX 75454.
In addition to proof of online enrollment and a completed registration packet, you must bring copies of the following documents to Kindergarten Round-Up in order to complete the registration process: 1) birth certificate, 2) social security card, 3) current immunization records, 4) parent or guardian’s driver’s license, and 5) proof of residency in Melissa ISD boundaries (current utility bill).
Registration will not be accepted without a) proof of online enrollment, b) a completed registration packet, and c) copies of all required documents.
Registration for Pre-Kindergarten is scheduled for Tuesday, August 2 from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. or Thursday, August 4 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Please follow the registration process as described for Kindergarten students.
Eligibility for Pre-Kindergarten is for students who turn 4 on or before September 1, 2016, have limited English proficiency (evaluation needed); or economically disadvantaged (eligible to participate in the National Free or Reduced-Price Lunch Program); or homeless; or a child of an active duty member of the armed forces or reserves; or in foster care; the family must reside in the Melissa ISD boundaries and provide proof of residency (current utility bill).
