Melissa High School theatre’s “Peter and the Starcatcher” One Act Play earned the bi-district champion title at the Bi-District One Act Play Competition earlier this month.
The production advances to area competition this Thursday, March 29 at Denison High School, located at 4200 N. Hwy 91 in Denison.
Melissa will be the third performance on Thursday with an approximate performance time of 12:00 noon. Guests should arrive by 11:30 a.m. to ensure that they see the show. Admission is free.
On top of the bi-district title, five Melissa students earned individual awards: Justin Berkeland, Best Actor; Bella Walker and Jacob Gallimore, All Star Cast; Thad Baker, Honorable Mention All Star Cast; and Isabella Lofaro, Outstanding Technician.
Also in the cast and crew are Mason Barnes, Katy Belanger, Dania Erwin, Skyler Harman, Abby Heath, Hayley Hurst, Adam Huth, Connor Lansford, Grace Lofaro, Alexyss McClure, Chloe Morris, Reese Murphy, Drew Richardson, Dylan Schmidt, Natalie Somers, Connor Thornburg, Emily Tubbs, Braelyn Van Schepen, Aaron Vaughan, Rachel Wresh, and Ivan Yanez.
“These amazing kids gave up the majority of their spring break to prepare for the competition, and their hard work paid off,” said director Megan Moore.
