The Melissa High School Lady Cardinal Track and Field team traveled up Highway 5 over Spring Break to compete in the Van Alstyne Panther Relays.
Senior Gill Gray shattered the school record in the Triple Jump, and her personal best, with a jump of 37’2 3/4″, capturing the silver medal.
Gray also captured the gold medal in the 400m dash – a season’s best – in addition to placing fourth in the 100m dash.
Junior Marissa Brunson pole vaulted 8’6″ to grab the silver medal, setting a personal best.
Sophomore Sally Clemmons placed fifth in the high jump.
Senior Maddie Kane captured the gold medal in the 300m with a season’s best. In the 800m run, Kane ran a personal best of 2:30, placing fourth.
Senior Bryanna Hernandez captured the silver medal 200m dash, setting a personal best of 26.78. Hernandez also captured the silver medal in the 100m dash.
Freshman Alison Kocsis ran a personal best of 12:39 in the 3200m run, capturing the silver medal. In the 1600m, Kocsis ran a personal best of 6:03, placing fifth.
The Lady Cardinals compete next at the Farmersville Invitational on March 16, followed by the Melissa Invitational on March 23.
