Families who wish to enroll their child in Kindergarten or Pre-Kindergarten at Melissa Schools for the 2018-19 school year are encouraged to attend Kindergarten Round-Up.
Kindergarten Round-Up is scheduled for Thursday, May 24 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Harry McKillop Elementary. This is a district-wide event serving incoming Kindergarten and Pre-Kindergarten students who will attend either Harry McKillop Elementary or North Creek Elementary.
Kindergarten Round-Up is a come-and-go event with no appointment necessary. Enrollment packets must be completed in advance.

Eligibility for Kindergarten is for students who turn five (5) years old on or before September 1, 2018 and reside in the Melissa ISD boundaries.
Melissa Schools uses an online enrollment system for students new to the district. Online enrollment for 2018-19 Kindergarten students opens Monday, May 14.
To begin online enrollment, visit the New Student Enrollment page under Parents & Community and Enrollment & Registration. Then, follow the step-by-step instructions and print out the confirmation page.
At the end of online enrollment, you will be prompted to print and complete an enrollment packet. These packets will be available beginning Monday, May 14 on the New Student Enrollment page or at the Harry McKillop Elementary front office, located at 3509 Liberty Way in Melissa.
In addition to proof of online enrollment and a completed enrollment packet, a parent or guardian must bring copies of the following documents to Kindergarten Round-Up in order to complete the enrollment process: 1) birth certificate, 2) social security card, 3) current immunization records, 4) parent or guardian’s driver’s license, and 5) proof of residency in Melissa ISD boundaries (current utility bill).
Enrollment will not be completed without a) proof of online enrollment, b) a completed enrollment packet, and c) copies of all required documents.
Please follow the enrollment process as described above for Kindergarten students.
Eligibility for Pre-Kindergarten is for students who turn four (4) years old on or before September 1, 2018; have limited English proficiency (evaluation needed); or economically disadvantaged (eligible to participate in the National Free or Reduced-Price Lunch Program); or homeless; or a child of an active duty member of the armed forces or reserves; or in foster care; the family must reside in the Melissa ISD boundaries and provide proof of residency (current utility bill).
If the student does not meet one of the above criterion, Pre-Kindergarten eligibility requires that the student is the child of a person eligible for the Star of Texas Award as: a peace officer under Section 3106.002, Government Code; a firefighter under Section 3106.003, Government Code; or an emergency medical first responder under Section 3106.004, Government Code.
