Longtime Melissa Cardinal supporter Helen Browning was recognized Tuesday evening by the City of Melissa for her devotion to the city, schools, and community.
Mayor Reed Greer and the City Council proclaimed that Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017 be celebrated as “Helen Browning Day” to coincide with the first annual Melissa Homecoming Parade on the same day, where Browning will serve as the grand marshal.
An excerpt from the proclamation states that “Browning has graced our city for many years as a tireless advocate of all things Melissa … [She] has given so much to so many and has made a significant impact on those who have been privileged to know her and work with her.”
