The Melissa Education Foundation has announced the first annual “Melissa’s Got Talent” competition and talent show, scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 24 in the competition gym at Melissa Middle School.
The show will open at 6:30 p.m. with a professional magician and performers will follow. The Arete Sliders food truck will be on site along with full concessions. Doors open at 6:00 p.m.
Tickets to the show cost $10 and are now available for purchase at each Melissa Schools campus, or by contacting Kellie Maynard at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The competition is open to all ages and all talents, including solo and group acts. The top three winning acts will each win a cash prize of $500, $300, and $200, respectively.
The Melissa Education Foundation board will accept the first 30 submissions and a panel of judges will narrow the selection to 15. Those top 15 acts will perform the night of the event.
Applications, video auditions, and a $25 competition fee are due by Jan. 31. Those interested in auditioning can learn more and download the required forms at www.MelissaEducationFoundation.com.
