Expresso Yourself Fine Arts Night

Expresso Yourself is an annual Melissa Schools fine arts showcase featuring performances from students in band, choir, and theatre, in addition to a walk-through gallery display of artwork by students in Kindergarten through 12th grade.


Third Annual Expresso Yourself Night

The third annual Melissa Schools Expresso Yourself Fine Arts Night took place at Melissa High School on Saturday, Dec. 16 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

This year’s event featured:

  • Performances from students in band, choir, and theatre.
  • Story time with student readers dressed in character.
  • A photo booth featuring artwork by students at Harry McKillop Elementary.
  • A walk-through gallery of student artwork from all four schools.
  • Snacks and refreshments.

A gallery of student artwork from all four schools was on display throughout the event in the main hallway outside the library. Refreshments and snacks were served in the library.

Illustrations featured in the December 2017 Expresso Yourself promotional materials were designed by students Alyssa Burns, Rylee White, Yisel Reynoso, Lance Smith, and Madi Somers.


Second Annual Expresso Yourself Night

The second annual Expresso Yourself fine arts night took place on April 29, 2017. The three-hour fine arts night featured student artwork and performances, along with beverages from Starbucks and snacks.

First Annual Expresso Yourself Night

The first annual Expresso Yourself fine arts night took place on April 16, 2016. The Melissa High School gym transformed into an art gallery, showcasing displays full of student artwork. The cafetorium housed back-to-back performances from students in band, choir, and theatre, concluding with a performance by Melissa High School’s One Act Play.
