MMS Fall Dance (6th Grade)

The Melissa Middle School Fall Dance, organized by the Student Council, is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 21 in the Multipurpose Building. The dance will go from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. for 6th grade students, and 8:00 - 10:00 p.m. for 7th and 8th grade students. The theme of the evening is "Sparkles and Spurs, Denim and Diamonds". Dress is casual. Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door.

The Melissa High School PTO will host a presentation by Homeland Security as part of their general meeting on Monday, Oct. 23 from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. (Note: The PTO Board will meet from 5:30 – 6:15 p.m.)

The Melissa Middle School Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, and Color Guard will present a Fall Concert on Tuesday, Oct. 24 at 7:00 p.m. in the Competition Gym at the middle school. Wearing a costume is encouraged. A "Trunk or Treat" will follow the concert. See the Flyer


“Red Out” for Red Ribbon Week @ MMS

Students are invited to "Red Out" on Friday, Oct. 27 as part of Red Ribbon Week. Prizes will be awarded to students who wear the most red.

The second annual Melissa Schools Reading Festival is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 2 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at Harry McKillop Elementary, featuring plays, a helicopter landing, food trucks, guest authors, and more.

Melissa Choir Fall 2017 Concert

The Melissa Choir presents their annual fall concert on Monday, Nov. 13 in the cafeteria at Melissa High School. The show begins at 7:30 p.m. and doors open at 7:00 p.m. The concert is free and will feature both the high school and middle school choirs.


Thanksgiving Break

Melissa Schools will close district-wide for Thanksgiving Break from Monday, Nov. 20 through Friday, Nov. 24. Normal operations will resume on Monday, Nov. 27.


December 2017

“A Cardinal Christmas” Parade & Activities

The city-wide 2017 Christmas Parade, organized by the Melissa Chamber of Commerce, is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 2 at 6:00 p.m. with "A Cardinal Christmas" as the theme. The parade will travel down Cardinal Drive to Melissa Ridge Intermediate and will return up Palo Pinto to City Hall. Pre-parade activities will take place at Melissa High School from 2:00 - 5:30 p.m. featuring crafts, choir performances, photos with Santa and Mrs. Santa, vendors, and more.
