“The Doorway to Your Future”
Seamlessly integrating liberal arts education and vocational skills training.
To motivate students toward achieving their full potential by providing them with opportunities to apply classroom learning in workplace situations.
We envision a school culture that values career preparation equally with college preparation. In keeping with that culture, every Melissa student will select a Career Preparation Program as part of the 9th grade registration process and pursue that program continuously until graduation.
Our goal is to offer at least one program that excites each student. We are currently planning for a wide variety of possible programs ranging from Business Management to Graphic Design and from Health Science to Automotive Technology, each aligned with an endorsement area under House Bill 5 graduation requirements.
The intent of each program will be to introduce students to studying and practicing their fields of interest, simultaneously preparing them for higher education and career readiness. In keeping with this intent, each career preparation program will be staffed with fully certified educators who regularly include working professionals in the classroom experience.
