Community Update from Mr. Murphy:
I wanted to take a few moments to share my thoughts with our families in Melissa. First, let me say that our hearts go out to the families who have lost children in Florida. I am also a parent and father of two, it’s not always easy, and I’m grateful for our community and the opportunities we have to work together on behalf of our children.
At Melissa Schools, we love our students. The safety, security, and well-being of our students is paramount when we make decisions. I am confident that during these difficult times, we will stand unified and not divided. It is so very difficult to navigate the political rhetoric of today, but trust is vital in our efforts to educate the students of our community.
Our primary focus is to promote well-rounded, well-educated students that will thrive in a fast-paced and challenging world after their experience at Melissa Schools. I believe it is important to mention that we are monitoring state and national conversations, as well as local conversations. We are listening to our students and families, and we continue to have open dialogue.
Melissa Schools will continue to make decisions locally with the safety and best interest of our students in mind.
