Melissa ISD administration would like to share that on Thursday, Feb. 1 at approximately 3:20 p.m. at Melissa High School, it was reported to campus administration that a male student had an airsoft-type toy gun in his bag in his athletic locker.
Immediately, the airsoft-type toy gun was confiscated, the student was removed from the vicinity of other students, and an investigation was initiated by the Melissa ISD Police Department.
After completing a full-day investigation on Friday, Feb. 2, Melissa ISD Chief of Police Kelly Davidson determined that the airsoft-type toy gun had no pellets and was never used or displayed in a threatening manner. As a result, the legal investigation was concluded.
The student will be disciplined in accordance with the Melissa ISD Student Code of Conduct.
