Collin County Health Department to host drill at Melissa High School this Saturday

The Collin County Health Department will conduct a “Point of Distribution” drill this Saturday, Feb. 18 at the Melissa High School campus.

This precautionary drill will focus on the distribution of necessary medications and vaccines in the event of a large-scale, county-wide emergency event.

Emergency vehicles and personnel, including Melissa Schools Chief of Police Kelly Davidson, will be on campus Saturday morning for the purpose of the drill.

The Collin County Health Department will conduct a “Point of Distribution” drill this Saturday, Feb. 18 at Melissa High School at no additional cost to the district. The Collin County Health Department requested to conduct this exercise, and the district merely granted that request.

An additional note of clarification from Melissa Schools Chief of Police Kelly Davidson: This is not a vaccination clinic. It is a precautionary drill, hosted by the Collin County Health Department, that focuses on the distribution of necessary resources in the event of a widespread emergency.
