The Region 10 Educational Service Center (ESC) has awarded a Title I Mutually Beneficial Funds Grant of $38,000 to Melissa Schools for the 2018-19 school year.

The grant will contribute to funding the purchase of new literacy libraries for students at Harry McKillop Elementary and North Creek Elementary as part of the district’s ongoing reading initiative.

The literacy libraries will include new classroom library book sets for both elementary schools.

Campus leadership applied for the grant earlier this year through the Region 10 ESC.

This award is a direct result of the efforts of Krissy Womack, assistant principal at Harry McKillop Elementary, Hillary Croissant and Tanya Thornburg, instructional coaches at Harry McKillop Elementary, and Ann Jezek, instructional coach at Melissa Ridge Intermediate.
