The Melissa High School 2018 Homecoming football game is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 21 at Cardinal Stadium, where the Melissa Cardinals will take on the Trinity Christian Cedar Hill Tigers. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m.
Earlier that week on Wednesday, Sept. 19 is the second annual Melissa Homecoming Celebration, a three-part, community-wide Cardinal event.
The following events will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 19.
The community is invited to tailgate beginning at 5:00 p.m. in the designated tailgating area, located north of Melissa Middle School on the east side of Cardinal Drive, up to Bexar Ave. The community may begin tailgating no earlier than 5:00 p.m. Tailgating spots are on a first-come, first-served basis.

The 2018 Melissa Homecoming Parade begins at 6:30 p.m. This year’s parade theme is “Tame the Tigers!”. Prizes will be awarded to the top three decorated floats. Ronny Williams, former football coach and athletic director at Melissa High School, will serve as the parade grand marshal.
Businesses, organizations, and clubs are invited to register a float for the parade. Registration is free and should be completed online no later than Friday, Sept. 14.
The parade will begin at the intersection of Cardinal Drive and Haskell, continue northeast on Cardinal, turn right onto Scott, left onto Barker, left onto Surrey, left onto Cardinal, and end in front of the middle school at Haskell.

A community pep rally at Cardinal Stadium will follow the Homecoming Parade. The pep rally will begin once the parade ends, at approximately 7:30 p.m.
